Hey, I'm Mackenzie! A New Jersey-based photographer who loves to travel wherever my camera takes me.

I'm on a mission to capture the iconic, authentic, and beautiful moments of life, and want to capture yours too.

In a past life, I worked as a graphic designer in a very corporate setting who constantly craved a deeper purpose, deeper relationships, and inspiration. I went from keeping up to date on what shows people were watching on Netflix at the department water cooler, to photographing people in the midst of their most vulnerable, breath-taking moments that tell and showcase very beautiful stories. I will never take these days for granted.

If you’re ready to go from feeling a bit uncomfortable and a little awkward behind the camera to comfortable and confident to showcase the real you - consider me your personal hype woman and "say cheese" expert.

Back where it all began...

My very own grandfather aka “Pop” was a world-renowned photographer for the New York Daily News.

He photographed some of the most historically iconic shots. I’m talking Marilyn Monroe, JFK Jr’s Salute, The Beatles, MLK’s speech - you name it! If there was a shot to shape history, my Pop was there to capture the moment. These photos were hung around the house, but most would be found in old wooden chests, basement shelves, and sometimes even junk doors, my grandma and Pop’s house was filled with photos to the brim.

When I was little, after everyone would go to bed, I would creep downstairs knowing my pop would still be up watching TV. Instead of returning me to bed, he would let me stay up late, drink coke, and eat chicken noodle soup with him. I would ask him about his photos and about the moments he captured. One thing that always stuck out about these iconic photos was how much better his story was than the photo and what these incredible photos were talking about.

Years later after he passed and I began to take photography more seriously, I noticed my favorite photos I had taken myself also seemed to have kick-ass stories to go along with them. My hope is that my work would fill your own wooden chests with photographs that your kids and grandkids will ask about. My greatest hope is that these photos serve as pinpoints to your favorite stories to share.

I am not your typical photographer stuck in the 2000's aesthetic of "picture perfect" moments.

Although you will get some of those "mama pleasers" with you looking at the camera in all your get-up, I have a deep love of curating moments to pull your authentic expressions to the surface for me to photograph. I won't take the photo if I know you are cringing inside, and I ensure your session or guidance during the session is curated for YOU. I spend the time to get to know you through coffee dates and questionnaires beforehand to make sure I am going in with fresh eyes custom to you and your relationship.

I understand how hard it is to feel comfortable in front of the camera. My main priority is making sure you are comfortable and having a good time in the midst of it all so that you can look back on your photos with good memories!
